FAQ – the most frequently asked questions

Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions about our bottles in the various sections.

Unfortunately, your question still remains unanswered? No problem, please send us a message directly to info@flaschenfreunde.de.

We will get back to you as soon as possible!

Where do the bottles come from?

Our glass bottles come mainly from glass factories in the region of Upper Franconia / Southern Thuringia. Individual bottles also come from EU countries. None of the bottles are produced outside the EU. The transport route of your bottle from production, through finishing to commissioning is kept to the absolute minimum and in most cases does not exceed 50km.

What properties do the bottles have?

All our bottles are made of glass. We are convinced that glass is the best material for filling and storing water due to its very good hygienic, migration and recycling properties and its durability when handled correctly.

We have bottles made of normal soda-lime glass as well as bottles made of borosilicate glass in our product selection. Borosilicate glass has a particularly high resistance to alternating temperatures and is therefore also suitable for use with hot drinks such as tea and coffee.

The use of our bottles for carbonated drinks is possible under certain conditions, depending on the respective bottle type. Please feel free to contact us at Info@flaschenfreunde.de.

Basically, any glass bottle can break if handled incorrectly. Please handle with care as with all glass bottles, then you will enjoy our beautiful and sustainable products for a long time.

Where does the closure come from?

Our closures come exclusively from regional production. Within a radius of approx. 20km around Schauberg, both our additively manufactured screw caps made of sustainable wood material and our swing stoppers with high-quality porcelain lids are produced, processed and refined.

Cleaning

Our glass bottles are dishwasher safe. For cleaning by hand, we recommend using a standard washing-up liquid and a cleaning brush. Please rinse the bottle thoroughly with clear water and make sure that no detergent remains in the bottle after rinsing.
Our swing stoppers are dishwasher safe. For cleaning by hand, we recommend using a standard washing-up liquid and a cleaning brush.

Our wooden closures are not dishwasher safe and must be cleaned by hand. Please note that wood is a natural material that can show discolouration after prolonged use and can easily deform when wet. After drying, the wooden cap returns to its original shape and closes again leak-proof. The sealing disc made of food-safe plastic is already firmly connected to the closure during production and can be cleaned together with it. It should be inspected for damage after the cleaning process to prevent water from entering between the seal and the closure.

How long does the delivery take?

As a rule, we print your order within a maximum of 4 weeks after receipt of the print approval and receipt of the deposit on our account. The delivery time depends, among other things, on the number of pieces and the number of colours and finishing processes used.

How does the design of the bottle work?

At Flaschenfreunde, we give you the choice so that you end up with a drinking bottle that really suits your needs.

First, choose the bottle that meets your criteria and appeals to you the most. To make it easier for you to choose, we have provided a small overview of the most important features for each bottle. After selecting the bottle, the printable area is automatically displayed. In this area you can place your print data, be it a graphic, a font, an image – you only have to observe the minimum requirements for printability. We print the bottle with up to 4 colours using screen printing or digital printing for photo-realistic images. The same applies to the closure. At the end of the process you will get a preview of your finished bottle. Of course, we are happy to be there for you at every step of the process. If you have any questions or doubts, please contact us directly at Info@flaschenfreunde.de.

How must the print data be prepared?

In order to obtain a good print result, the print data must be prepared according to the described specifications. If these have not been adhered to, we unfortunately cannot accept any liability for the print result. We are happy to offer you a professional data check for a fee.

Your print data – screen printing / pad printing / digital printing?

Depending on how you want to design your bottles and caps, we use different printing methods: Screen printing, pad printing or digital printing.

Screen printing

in the screen printing process, the printing ink is printed with the squeegee through a fine-mesh fabric onto the material to be printed. Different tissue finenesses can be used to achieve different results. We use this printing process for texts, lettering or logos, for example – anything that can be reproduced with a maximum of 4 solid or half-tone colours.

Pad printing

this printing process works in principle like stamp printing and is used for printing the closure, for small fonts and fine screens – again for everything that can be reproduced with a maximum of 4 solid or half-tone colours.

Digital printing

For photo-realistic images, colour gradients or graphics with more than 4 colours, we use digital printing. Here, the basic colours CMYK are used, which are printed directly onto the glass. The printed image is underlaid with white or lacquer.

To obtain a good print result, the data must be prepared according to the specifications described below. If these are not adhered to, we unfortunately cannot accept any liability for the print result. Return of printed goods

As we print the bottles especially for you, we unfortunately cannot take back printed goods. Therefore we need your explicit print approval at the end of the configuration process and ask you several times to check and confirm print data and print status. Moreover, we will of course not leave you alone during the entire process. If you have any questions or doubts, please feel free to contact us directly at Info@flaschenfreunde.de.
